Her training groups (puppy onwards) at THE DOG HUB aim to teach urban dogs and their owners how to cope with the many challenges of inner city life. The one-to-one problem solving arm of her practice expands on this: she is committed to rehabilitating dogs that struggle to cope with the stresses and strains of living in today's fast-moving world in dense and noisy metropolitan environments. All the training and support Susan offers is non-judgemental: "You can't change the past, but you can influence the future!" She believes that learning should be fun and that, because the activities learned should be fit for purpose, she offers each dog and its owners thoughtfully tailored training packages. The original head of the Status Dog Unit said of her that: "You can’t beat academic and experience and she has both in abundance"

Susan attends seminars and courses from the best dog training and behaviour practitioners in order keep her skills up to date. These cover topics such as aggression, nutrition, dogs and the law, and reactive dogs. She is DBS (disclosure and barring service) checked by Camden Council.

She has her own working support dog - The Cheidle - who she trained from puppy.  Cheidle is a 5 year old female chocolate labrador.

***************

YARO began her journey with The Dog Hub 11 years ago when she brought her own Doberman puppy to class, determined to learn how to raise a well-behaved dog. As she gained knowledge, her interest in dog training grew, motivating her to pursue it as a career. With over a decade of experience working with dogs of all breeds, backgrounds, and challenges, she is passionate about enhancing the dog-owner relationship through cooperation and mutual respect. Yaro wants her training sessions to be not only effective, but also fun and wants the owners to feel empowered. She doesn’t believe in always telling dogs what to do but rather wants to encourage them to think for themselves and learn to make good choices. This is particularly vital for life in London, where she helps clients and their dogs develop the skills and resilience needed to thrive together in an urban environment.

As per the Dog Hub motto, "We want to be better tomorrow than we are today," Yaro consistently strives to enhance her knowledge and skills through regular team CPD sessions and independent study. Demonstrating her commitment to professional development, Yaro has successfully completed the Compass Puppy Training Certificate with Distinction, and the Compass Canine Nutrition for Veterinary Nurses with Distinction. She is also currently pursuing the Compass Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine), where she has already achieved Distinction in both Module 1: 'Learning Theory' and Module 2: 'The Genetics and Evolution of Canine Behaviour.' She is determined to continue living by this motto, eagerly pursuing more knowledge to provide even better service for both the dogs and clients.
