Susan has eight years experience in the field of assessing dogs for Social Services adoption and fostering. She recognises the emotional stress this can place on dog owners and looks to support them towards a positive outcome. Her love of dogs notwithstanding, the focus of the assessment however is on the safety and welfare of the child[ren].
- Assessments for local authorities (eg fostering and adoption) when prospective carers or adopters have a dog resident in the household. The risk to the child[ren] is assessed, management and training needs identified, and recommendations made in comprehensive detailed written reports. Fully supported training packages for the dog and owner can be provided, subject to agreement.
- Risk assessments and training packages for private individuals to prepare their dog for the arrival of a baby in the household.
- Risk assessments and training packages for private individuals who have concerns that the behaviour of their dog could have an impact on the safety and welfare of their family and/or the general public.
The fee for a behaviour risk assessment is £250.00.
